چکیده

This paper presents an evaluation of the spectral characteristics of switching converters with a chaotic carrier-frequency modulation scheme (CCFMS). By incorporating a Chua’s circuit (CC) into the pulsewidth modulator for driving the switches, three modulation schemes, including the standard pulsewidth modulation scheme, periodic carrier-frequency modulation scheme, and CCFMS, can be realized with the CC in equilibrium, limit cycle, and chaos, respectively. The property of frequency spreading in CCFMS is studied by using statistical analysis method. The developed model is applied to formulate the power spectral densities of the input current and the output voltage of the three basic dc/dc converters under CCFMS. Theoretical predictions are verified with experimental measurements.

This paper presents a novel control method to improve the efficiency of low-voltage DC-DC converters at light loads. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) converters have poor efficiencies at light loads, while pulse frequency modulation (PFM) control is more efficient for the same cases. Switching losses constitute a major portion of the total power loss at light loads. To decrease the switching losses...

Conduction and Dead-Time Voltage Drops Estimation of Asymmetric Cascaded H-Bridge Converters Utilizing Level-Shifted PWM Scheme

Linear AC power supplies can be replaced by their nonlinear switching counterparts due to the lower voltage drops and higher efficiency and power density of switching-mode inverters. Multilevel cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converters are the preferred inverter structure because of modular configuration, control, and protection. The output voltage quality in CHB converters depends on the number of ou...

Space Vector Modulation Based on Classification Method in Three-Phase Multi-Level Voltage Source Inverters

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques are commonly used to control the output voltage and current of DC to AC converters. Space Vector Modulation (SVM), of all PWM methods, has attracted attention because of its simplicity and desired properties in digital control of Three-Phase inverters. The main drawback of this PWM technique is &#10its complex and time-consuming computations in real-time ...
